An optical illusion resulting in the disappearance and appearance of small dots.

This work was based off of the illusion of the scintillating grid, which was discovered by E. Lingelbach in 1994. Scanning over the work, one can see small white dots appear and disappear at all of the intersections. This effect only tends to work at moderate/intermediate viewing distances – if the view is extremely close or very far away from the work, the dots do not change in appearance.
