This painting features a small child with a noose around his neck. This marks one of my earliest paintings.

This painting was inspired by Elie Wiesel’s book Night. There was one scene in particular that stood out for me in that particular novel, and it was the hanging of the “sad-eyed angel.”  This little boy, was sentenced to be hanged along side two other inmates. When it came time for the execution, the child was silent.  The other two inmates died immediately, but since the child was so light,  he hung there for more than half an hour. This painting attempts to portray the moment right before the child’s execution….pale, almost calm, silent.
