An early work and pun-based image that toys with the idea of a “ponytail.”

This painting plays on the idea of a common hairstyle (ponytail), morphing into a horse or pony. This image was created for an art raffle auction and fundraiser for Artists Image Resource (AIR). AIR provided a group of artists with T-shirts to create unique works of art from the shirt. Most of the artists simply printed a cool design to be auctioned off, while others re-purposed the shirts to create pillows or stuffed animals. My take on the piece was to stretch the shirt over a canvas frame, and gesso the piece to allow a painting to be created on the actual shirt. This is the end result.
