An optical illusion that deals with the idea of love.

This work was created as a small scale study to basically test out the illusion.  There probably could be some deep symbolic discussion of the appearance/disappearance/illusion or the transience of love, but perhaps that is meant for another time.  Examining the work up close, to the average viewer, only looks to be a simple pattern or a series of diagonal lines. As one stares meaningfully into the work, the result only leads to eye strain. It is when the individual steps back from the work, the hidden image of a heart appears…thus the title Distant Love.
