A pun-based piece that illustrates the multiple definitions of a clay pigeon.
As defined by Dictionary.com:
Clay Pigeon: Trapshooting, Skeet. a disk of baked clay or other material hurled into the air from a trap as a target.
Clay Pigeon: Any bird of the family Columbidae, having a compact body and short legs, especially the larger species with square or rounded tails…This pigeon, happens to be rendered as if modeled in clay.
Although I’m content with the print, there is always room for improvement. If I were to reprint it again, I would not use as much transparent base in the highlight layer, as it sort of gets lost and blends in with the image. Another tweak would be to add a color to soften some of the harsh drop shadows of the objects.
- Final printed version of the image. 4-Color Silkscreen Print.
